Anche il Qualcomm Tech Summit 2020<\/strong> si \u00e8 tenuto virtualmente, come la maggioranza degli eventi dell’anno. Tuttavia le novit\u00e0 sono concrete, ed il nuovo SoC<\/strong> dell’azienda \u00e8 finalmente ufficiale. Inizialmente atteso come Snapdragon 875<\/em>, il SoC di punta per il 2021 si chiama Snapdragon 888<\/strong>. Vediamo insieme di cosa sar\u00e0 capace e quali produttori adotteranno la nuova soluzione della casa californiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Snapdragon 888: +25% sulle prestazioni<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lo Snapdragon 888<\/strong> sfrutta una CPU Kryo 680<\/strong>. Il nuovo e potente core ARM\u00a0Cortex-X1<\/strong>\u00a0a\u00a02.84 GHz<\/strong> \u00e8 affiancato da tre core Cortex-A78<\/strong> a 2.4 GHz<\/strong> e quattro Cortex-A55<\/strong> ad 1.8 GHz<\/strong>. Il tutto si traduce con un incremento delle performance del 25%, a fronte di consumi complessivi ridotti del 25%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Qualcomm<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Processo produttivo a 5nm<\/strong>, incremento delle prestazioni <\/strong>e riduzione dei consumi <\/strong>sono per\u00f2 solo l’antipasto servito da Qualcomm<\/a>. Il nuovo AI Engine<\/strong>, infatti, sfrutta il processore Hexagon 780<\/strong> per arrivare a 26 TOPS<\/strong> (tera operation per second), e gli affianca il Qualcomm Sensing Hub<\/strong>. Grazie a questa soluzione, solo la gestione delle mansioni pi\u00f9 impegnative \u00e8 effettivamente affidata all’Hexagon<\/strong>, garantendo un miglioramento nell’efficienza della gestione delle risorse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Qualcomm<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Non poteva mancare una svolta anche sul fronte grafico, dove viene introdotta la nuova GPU Adreno 660<\/strong>. I dati riportati permettono di immaginare scenari particolarmente rosei per gli amanti del mobile gaming. La terza generazione dello Snapdragon Elite Gaming<\/strong> porter\u00e0 con s\u00e9 la possibilit\u00e0 di \u00a0giocare a 144 Hz<\/strong>, <\/strong>in HDR<\/strong> a 10 bit<\/strong>. Non mancano il supporto alla funzione Quick Touch<\/strong>, per ridurre la latenza del tocco fino al 20%, ed il variable rate shading<\/strong>\u00a0(VRS), per sfruttare la massima risoluzione. Numeri alla mano, Qualcomm<\/strong> promette una velocit\u00e0 di rendering aumentata del 35%<\/strong>, nonostante l’impatto sulla batteria si riduca del 20%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connettivit\u00e0 5G e Wi-Fi 6E<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sul fronte connettivit\u00e0 non ci sono mezze misure, ed il nuovo SoC integra il modem Snapdragon X60<\/strong> per una copertura sempre pi\u00f9 completa delle reti di nuova generazione. Migliora infatti copertura per le bande 5G <\/strong>adottate dai vari operatori in tutto il mondo, sia mmWave<\/strong> che sub-6GHz<\/strong>. Le velocit\u00e0 teoricamente raggiungibili da quest’ultima generazione superano facilmente quelle fino ad ora permesse dalle nostre infrastrutture, con picchi di\u00a07.5 Gbps <\/strong>in download e 3 Gbps <\/strong>in upload.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quanto riguarda invece il Wi-Fi<\/strong>, c’\u00e8 il modulo FastConnect A6900<\/strong> con supporto\u00a0Wi-Fi 6E<\/strong>. Con il nuovo spettro a 6 GHz<\/strong>, e supporto a canali da 80 a 160 Hz, che permette trasferimenti fino a 3.6 Gbps <\/strong>in download. Non manca neppure il Bluetooth 5.2<\/strong>, corredato di due antenne dedicate e suite aptX<\/strong> (fino a 96kHz\/24-bit)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spectra 580 con triplo ISP<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Altro punto di spicco dell’ultima soluzione di casa Qualcomm <\/strong>\u00e8 senz’altro il supporto al comparto multimediale. Le prestazioni di calcolo dello Spectra 580<\/strong> lasciano solo intravedere le grandi potenzialit\u00e0 in ambito di fotografia computazionale. L’ISP<\/strong> infatti si triplica, e sar\u00e0 in grado di processare 2.7 GigaPixel di foto e video al secondo<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il sistema migliorer\u00e0 la resa luminosa, sia con scarsa illuminazione che in pieno sole, e avr\u00e0 supporto HEIF in HDR a 10 bit. L’HDR<\/strong> sar\u00e0 inoltre disponibile, per la prima volta, anche nei video 4K<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Infine, tutti i creator di contenuti multimediali potranno avvalersi del supporto allo standard\u00a0Concent Authenticity Initiative<\/strong>. Snapdragon 888 <\/strong>sar\u00e0 il primo SoC a tutelarli, rendendo foto e video riconducibili al loro creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quali dispositivi equipaggeranno lo Snapdragon 888?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Il debutto per Snapdragon 888<\/strong> dovrebbe arrivare con Xiaomi Mi 11<\/strong>. Ma ad affiancare Xiaomi <\/a>ci sono altri 13 produttori che adotteranno il SoC<\/strong>. Ecco i partners confermati durante l’evento: ASUS<\/strong>, Black Shark<\/strong>, Lenovo<\/strong>, LG<\/strong>, Meizu<\/strong>, Motorola<\/strong>, Nubia<\/strong>, Realme<\/strong>, OnePlus<\/strong>, OPPO<\/strong>, Sharp<\/strong>, Vivo<\/strong>, ZTE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
