L\u2019aspetto pi\u00f9 interessante \u00e8 che non si tratta di un semplice boot dimostrativo: il sistema riesce a sfruttare l\u2019accelerazione GPU e ad aprire anche il browser Chrome.<\/p><p>Il risultato, per\u00f2, va letto per quello che \u00e8: un porting sperimentale pensato per test e sviluppo, non una compatibilit\u00e0 ufficiale di Googlebook OS con i Mac. Il sistema viene poi modificato per adattarsi all\u2019hardware virtuale della macchina emulata. Questo punto \u00e8 importante perch\u00e9 <strong>non<\/strong> si parla n\u00e9 di una ROM Android generica n\u00e9 di un\u2019installazione diretta del sistema sul Mac.<\/p><p>Googlebook OS nasce da una base tecnologica Android, ma punta a offrire un\u2019esperienza desktop pi\u00f9 vicina a ChromeOS, con supporto alle app Android e funzioni di integrazione tra notebook e smartphone. Nel progetto gbos-vm la parte pi\u00f9 delicata riguarda la grafica: Android usa Vulkan, mentre i Mac Apple Silicon lavorano con Metal.<\/p><p>Proprio questa scelta rende il test pi\u00f9 interessante di una semplice prova di avvio. La configurazione consigliata prevede almeno <strong>16 GB di RAM<\/strong> e circa <strong>60 GB di spazio libero<\/strong>, oltre a una serie di dipendenze software come Xcode Command Line Tools, Homebrew, Java Development Kit e Android SDK.<\/p><p>Sul piano pratico, i compromessi non mancano. La macchina virtuale arriva a un refresh massimo di <strong>60 fps<\/strong>, alcuni contenuti che usano particolari modalit\u00e0 WebGL possono mostrare anomalie grafiche e l\u2019audio non \u00e8 ancora stabile.
