Samsung<\/strong> amplia le capacit\u00e0 di SmartThings<\/strong> aggiungendo il supporto alla versione Thread 1.4<\/strong>, con l\u2019obiettivo di semplificare l\u2019integrazione dei dispositivi smart home di terze parti e migliorare l\u2019interoperabilit\u00e0 tra ecosistemi. L\u2019aggiornamento debutta su hub selezionati, tra cui Aeotec Smart Home Hub<\/strong> e Aeotec Smart Home Hub 2<\/strong>, con estensione ad altri modelli in arrivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cos\u2019\u00e8 Thread 1.4 e perch\u00e9 conta<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Thread \u00e8 un protocollo di rete a basso consumo progettato per la domotica. Con la release 1.4<\/strong>, il Thread Group<\/strong> introduce un tassello chiave: la semplificazione della coesistenza tra ecosistemi diversi, cos\u00ec che dispositivi basati su Thread possano funzionare in modo coordinato senza dover ricorrere all\u2019app proprietaria di ogni brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Per orientarsi nella terminologia:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– End Device<\/strong>: dispositivo finale controllabile sulla rete Thread (es. una lampadina smart). Consuma poco ed \u00e8 l\u2019endpoint delle automazioni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Router<\/strong>: oltre a funzionare come dispositivo, inoltra i messaggi contribuendo alla maglia (mesh) per estendere copertura e affidabilit\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Border Router<\/strong>: ponte tra rete Thread e rete Wi\u2011Fi<\/strong> o Ethernet<\/strong>. \u00c8 cruciale perch\u00e9 consente ai device Thread di dialogare con l\u2019infrastruttura di casa e con le app di controllo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gli hub SmartThings<\/strong> funzionano da Border Router<\/strong> e traggono vantaggio dalla rete mesh di Thread per latenza pi\u00f9 bassa, maggiore resilienza e setup pi\u00f9 lineare in ambienti misti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Novit\u00e0 in SmartThings e hub compatibili<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SmartThings<\/strong> \u00e8 tra i primi ecosistemi a supportare la \u201cunificazione\u201d delle reti Thread prevista dalla 1.4. In pratica, \u00e8 possibile far convergere pi\u00f9 Border Router<\/strong> di brand diversi in un\u2019unica rete Thread coerente, evitando isole separate e riducendo la frammentazione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Aeotec Smart Home Hub 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung conferma che il supporto sar\u00e0 esteso ad altri hub successivamente. Questo approccio graduale \u00e8 tipico negli aggiornamenti di protocolli di base, poich\u00e9 coinvolge firmware, app e controlli di sicurezza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Configurazione: unificare o unirsi a una rete Thread esistente<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La procedura \u00e8 stata semplificata nell\u2019app SmartThings. Dalla schermata dell\u2019hub, il percorso \u00e8: Settings \u2192 Manage Thread network \u2192 Unify Thread network<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sono previste due modalit\u00e0 operative, pensate per scenari reali diversi:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Condividere la rete SmartThings esistente<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Se si possiede gi\u00e0 una rete Thread creata con l\u2019hub SmartThings<\/strong>, si pu\u00f2 scegliere Share SmartThings network<\/strong>. L\u2019app genera un QR code<\/strong> e un OTP (One\u2011Time Passcode)<\/strong>: con uno dei due \u00e8 possibile aggiungere Border Router<\/strong> di terze parti alla rete SmartThings. In questo modo, il parco dispositivi Thread gi\u00e0 installato beneficia della copertura e della ridondanza di pi\u00f9 router di confine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unirsi a una rete terza preesistente<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Se invece esiste gi\u00e0 una rete Thread gestita da un altro ecosistema, si seleziona Join another network<\/strong>. Utilizzando il QR<\/strong> o l\u2019OTP<\/strong> forniti dall\u2019app di terze parti, l\u2019hub SmartThings<\/strong> entra nella rete esistente. Questo riduce il lock\u2011in e consente di mantenere le automazioni attive senza riconfigurazioni pervasive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
